You are welcome, sought after, and celebrated.

Inclusivity

We love a bohemian blonde as much as the next wedding blogger, but want to celebrate the amazing love that lies beyond that typically shown in wedding media.

We love black girls, whether natural hair or maybe no hair at all.
Redheads, purple-haired foxes, and unicorn-pastel ladies.
Maybe no ladies at all.
Maybe two.
Culturally diverse couples sharing their customs.
Jesus fans of every variety.
Taoists, Hindu, LDS, or Wiccan.

We don’t have to all live the same lifestyle to appreciate love, art, beauty, and truth.

Body Positivity

We don’t mind a size 2 model mixed in, of course, but want to also celebrate the amazing, underrepresented beauty that lies beyond that typically shown in wedding media.

We’re down with towering queens.
We see you, short gals!
We adore your confidence, whatever your look.
Scars are experience, not ugliness.
We’re here for plus size brides,
Mature vixens and fitness mavens,
All of you missing from magazines –
We celebrate you.

Creative Empowerment

For couples –

Our mission is to spread the word that the era of a singular, “proper” way  has passed, replaced with unprecedented freedom to infuse your personality into any or every detail of your celebration.  We adore tradition, though not merely for the sake of itself.  Embrace sentimentality, heritage, and story.  Given the predominance of random Tyrannosaurs and unicorns, we guarantee you’ll laugh at some of the things you’ll see here, but will ultimately feel inspired to do “weird” your distinct way.  We want to help you make your guests say “Oh my goodness; that is SO [insert your name here]!”

For creative professionals –

KWW aims to empower the creative professionals who live and breathe for couples who think outside of the box.  We do not believe in the idea of the “Wedding Industrial Complex” (wedding vendors as villains) or the supposed prevalence of a “wedding tax” (malicious upcharging).  Rather, we support these small business owners whose passions compel them to serve rad couples.  That said, we acknowledge that weddings don’t get do-overs, and that you expect more from a wedding gown than a prom dress.  A wedding photographer must be able to adjust to dynamic situations in an instant.  Similarly, making a sheet cake is different than an experienced artist assembling tiers with build-in support after delivering on-site.

Weird weddings are partnerships, and we want to help facilitate that magic.

We don’t take sides here.  Keep Weddings Weird was built on an ethos of mutually benefitting couples and creative professionals. I mean, it seems so obvious, easy, and simple, but somehow…

Weird, right?
